| Known Bugs and fixes for this |
As with the previous versions of this burner there still aint a installation
procedure. The reason for this
is that this is a standalone burner that really dont need a installation
procedure to work. Second, it would
be a waste of space to add a install future. Still some peoples would like
to have this as an option, so on
this page there will be a version for installation as a addon to the ordinary
program. Expect this version
to be listed by 1. November.
With the current version there is one simple way of making a desktop shortcut
in a easy way. Open the
program, go to the file menu and select "Create shortcut on desktop"
as shown in the picture below.

Create a shortcut on desktop for easy access
Well, this is really up to the users. You may have noticed that the current
version shows up as "Unregistered".
From version 4.x there is a free choice of registering the program or not.
But if you do register, you will help
us so that we can improve the burner further. The main reason i ask peoples
to register is that the things i need
to make the burner do what many peoples ask for will cost me about 1500$.
This is money i dont have, so to
make those improvements you will have to register, or donate some money.
What will you get back?
First of all, there will be possibillities to create Video CD/DVD. Second,
clone CD/DVD, and third Rip music cd.
Burn on multiple burners at once. + many more options and functions.
The 1500$ is only for the components i need, nothing of it is for "work"
money.
So if you want to see these improvements, Register!, or start donating.
The problems some peoples have with downloading is soon to be fixed. We
are moving the site to a much larger server
these days. There will be almost no down time for the site.
Q: What is OPC?
A: Performing OPC is a special technique used in newer cd recorders
for
monitoring and maintaining the quality of the disc writing and ensuring
the accuracy and of all the mark and lands lengths across the disk.
The term Performing OPC actually describes a general process which is
also known by several trade names including "Dynamic Power Control
(DPC)"
and "Direct Read During Write (DRDW)".
There may be differences in execution which give some of these implementations
competitive advantages over others.
Q: How do I burn without administrator rights under Win2k/XP?
A: Perform the following steps:
Open the "Local Security Policy" console by clicking on the start
menu -> control panel -> administrative tools, and select local security
policy.
Then expand the "Local Policies" section and select "security
options".
Change "Devices: Restrict CD-ROM access to locally logged-on user only."
to ENABLED.
You should then be able to burn/erase mediums without administrator rights.

This is the place to adjust the burner to act the way you want it to.
Short explanation of the elements on this page:
1. Joliet File System - By checking this you will get Joliet support (supports
long filenames) Should be checked as default!
2. Bootable - If you want to burn a bootable cd check this box and select
an *.iso boot image to burn. In the filemenu, select new ISO
and click on the burn iso file button. When you are asked to select a iso
choose the same file as you did in this window.
3. Import session - Select to import a session (-1) means to import last
session.
4. Underrun protection - Should always be on (makes the burning more stable,
and reduces the chance of getting errors)
5. Test Write - Checking this will do test write of the selected items.
It does a full writing, except the laser never is turned on and
nothing is actually written to disk.
6. Eject after write/erase - Just tells the burner to eject the cd or not
after a burning session is completed.
7. Show files before burning - Well, take a wild guess :-)
8. Archive files only & clear archive bit -
9. Close Disc (Finalize) - Checking this box will close the disc and make
it compatible with all other burners and computers.
10. Quick Save ISO - Makes the saving of iso files quicker than ordinary
speed. (Should be checked as default)
11. Perform OPC - See FAQ about this part. (Should be checked as default)
12. Select Speed - Only use this if you must, The burner automaticly finds
the fastest speed available.
13. Cache size - This is the software cache. Should be set to at least 4
MB.
14. Volume label - Here you can enter a label to the cd/dvd to be created.
(Cleared out after each burning).
15. Save path -
16. Silence between tracks - This goes for audio burner and is the ammount
of silence you want between the tracks when
burning an audio cd.
17. Language settings - Here you can select the language you want to use.
18. "The OK Button" - Clicking this will write your selections
to the registry so that it remembers your settings next time
you start the program.
19. "The Cancel Button" - Settings done will still be remembered,
but only until next start of program, then it goes back to the
previous settings.
Now that we have set the program up as we wants it, lets take a look at
the main window:

Lets take a closer look on this part of the program:
First you have the files selected list:
This is the files and folders that have been selected for burning. You have
3 columns here.
1. "R" - As it is today this only shows if there is a directory
selected or a file. (If directory it is checked, single file it is not checked).
2. "Name" - Name and path to the file/folder.
3. "Size" - Shows the total size of selected file/folder (total
size of folder WITH sub directories).
If you want to remove some of the files/folders selected, you have 3 ways
of doing this:
1. Doubleclick on the item (this will remove the item from the list)
2. RightClick and select "Remove" from the popup window showing.
3. RightClick and select "Clear all" from the popup window showing.
(This will remove all items in the list).
The Explorer list to the left is just like windows explorer, browse to
the files/folders you want and start selecting by
dragging from the explorer lists to the file/folder selection list and drop
them there.
NB! If you are selecting a folder with lots of files and/or subdirectories
it may take a few seconds for it to show in the list.
Thats it! only thing remaining is to select what burner you would like to use, and then click burn.
The Audio burner looks like this:
The audio burner works similat to the data burner in most ways.
Select the files you want in the explorer windows(Ctrl + mouse to select
multiple files) and finally drag and drop the files
on to the burning list. This version supports direct convertion from MP3
and also wav files, to music cd format.
In addition to drag and drop you can also rightclick in the file selected
list and add files from the popup menu, or drag/drop
files directly from windows file manager.
The used space statusbar shows the time instead of size, also the free
space shows time values instead of file size.
One thing to have in mind is that it may take a few seconds for the selected
files to show up in the burning list.
This is normal, and you will get a message telling when finished.
As with the data burner, when finished selecting files, just click burn.
Further updates later this week.........
